About the Limestone Chapter

Limestone Chapter supports woodlot enthusiasts from across rural Kingston, Frontenac County, and Lennox and Addington County. Established in 1993, we focus primarily on education that supports good forest stewardship.

Our Chapter offers spring and fall Woodland Walks at different private and public woodlots throughout the Limestone area. These walks are typically held over a few hours on a weekend and showcase different aspects of forest stewardship and management. While normally attended by adults, at least one walk each year is ensured to be family and child-friendly. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share knowledge, and learn from each other.

Other educational and social events, as well as workshops and seminars, may be offered, both formally and informally, throughout the year. We also support OWA Provincial and our neighbours, particularly Quinte Chapter, in organizing and running regional and provincial conferences. Chapter members are welcome to attend events hosted by other OWA chapters. Limestone Chapter typically holds our Annual General Meeting in late winter or early spring.

You don’t have to be a woodlot owner to become an OWA member and join us! Our events provide great opportunities to see various types of woodlands, learn new skills, and meet interesting people with common interests who are happy to support fellow members. Plan to attend an event, offer your own woodlot for a Woodland Walk, volunteer with us, or get involved with our Board of Directors.
