Olivo is a recent graduate of the Environmental Biology Program at Nipissing University, with experience in research and field work focusing on the regeneration of native tree species. He has lived across Ontario and has observed the integral role of best forest management practices. He is interested in being more directly involved and learning more about private land forest stewardship.
During his six-month tenure with the OWA, Olivo will lead the development of a "How-To" Guide for the management and treatment of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). Olivo will work with partner organizations, experts, and industry to develop a relevant and practical guide for those treating hemlock stands for HWA. He will also help with related HWA project field work that is scheduled for this summer and fall.
