Ontario Invasive Plant Council Conference: Building Resilient Communities

The Ontario Invasive Plant Council (OIPC) is excited to present the Ontario Invasive Plant Conference and the Ontario Phragmites Working Group Annual Meeting on Wednesday, January 18th and Wednesday January 25th, respectively. These events will be occurring virtually using our industry leading virtual outreach and networking software, Remo!

The 2023 OIPC conference and OPWG meeting theme is Building Resilient Communities! This year we will showcase a community approach to invasive plant management through building resilient communities and broadening perspectives to foster coordinated action towards the control and management of invasive plants. This year’s conference will encourage people to work together towards healthy ecosystems and biodiversity in a changing climate. It will provide an opportunity to explore strategies, programs, partnerships, knowledge and research that shape and build resilient management of invasive plants.

Each year, this unique event brings together professionals and passionate citizens from across Ontario and beyond. This interactive event is both a learning opportunity and a great chance to network with others working in the field of invasive plant management. This conference is an excellent opportunity for municipalities, government agencies, NGO’s, academics, students, and citizen scientists to learn, take part in discussions and to meet others who are knowledgeable and passionate about invasive plant management. We are excited to support connection in this online venue and have made sure that you will have time to meet with your peers and our sponsors.

This event will be offered in conjunction with our Annual Ontario Phragmites Working Group Meeting which will take place virtually on January 25th 2023. Together, this unique two-day event brings together professionals and passionate citizens across Ontario and beyond.
