Canadore Tree Day – Chestnut Planting - North Bay

Canadore College in partnership with College and Institutes Canada (CICan) is creating a forest management plan as part of our ImpACT – Climate – Campus Living Labs initiative. As part of the management plan, with the engagement of local stakeholders, students and staff from the Canadore College and Nipissing University, and community members we are looking to plant American Chestnut (Castanea dentata) seedlings during National Tree Day. 250 plants have been provided to us by the Canadian Chestnut Council with the help of the Ontario Woodlot Association. Please join us on September 20th to enjoy the outdoors and help enhance the biodiversity of our forest.
