Information Session and Q&A

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and the Ontario Woodlot Association (OWA) are exploring the impact privately-owned and managed woodlots have on contributing to the goal of protecting 30% of Canada's land and waters by 2030. In this voluntary project, private woodlots will be screened for eligibility under the category of Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures (OECM). OECMs, such as private woodlots, are a model for how people can manage and steward the land sustainably, in ways that allow nature to thrive and achieve the same biodiversity results as a protected area.

The OWA and Environment and Climate Change Canada are interested in the positive impact privately owned and managed woodlots may have in preserving biodiversity, and we are looking to woodlot owners for help. If you are interested in getting involved in this project, you can complete the questionnaire.

The information session will provide an overview of the project, the goals and how woodlot owners can get involved. OWA and ECCC staff will be available to answer questions during the Q&A time.

A webinar link will be sent to you in the registration confirmation email.
