Lanark & District Ceremonial First Tapping

You are invited to the official First Tapping Ceremony and event in Lanark & District! Come celebrate the sweetest time of the year at Thompson's Sweet Retreat on Saturday, March 8 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This event will mark the beginning of maple syrup season in our region.

This event starts at 11 a.m. with an introduction and presentation. The ceremonial first tapping of the season will take place at 11:30 a.m.

Live entertainment will take place - from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Vicki Brittle will perform; from 12:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jim & Jr. will entertain.

Lunch, coffee, and drinks will available to purchase, along with maple syrup, butter, sugar and - of course - taffy! Bring your winter gear for a winter hike on the walking trail, then warm up by the campfire. Sugarbush tours will also be available.

Bring the whole family! This will be a fantastic day full of old fashioned family fun.
