The Niagara Chapter of the OWA is inviting members, friends and anyone interested in maple syrup production for this year’s AGM.
Guest speaker Peter Kuitenbrouwer, author of the book “Maple Syrup: A Short History of Canada's Sweetest Obsession” will be sharing with us the history of maple syrup production in Canada – including its cultural importance with our Indigenous people, and the complexity of today’s maple syrup industry. Peter is a prominent Canadian journalist, author, and Registered Professional Forester who operates a professional practice in forestry conservation and environmental writing. Over his career, he has written for major publications such as The Globe and Mail and Maclean’s and is currently the editor of Our Forest magazine, the official publication of Forests Canada.
Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. with presentations starting at 7:00 P.M.
We will have door prizes available to those in attendance, along with warm beverages and snacks. We hope to see you there!
