The Limestone Chapter encompasses the two counties of Frontenac and Lennox and Addington, including the urban centers of Kingston and Napanee.

Our main focus is forest education and we carry this out in several ways.

For a number of years, we have brought in guest lecturers to speak on a variety on forest related topics from “Trees and Bees” to forest gene conservation. These lectures usually take place in the winter, while in the more moderate seasons, we conduct field days, woodlot tours and outdoor workshops.

Each fall, we hold the Fall Forest Field Day, usually in partnership with our sister chapter, Quinte, as well as other like-minded organizations as Friends of the Salmon River and local Stewardship councils.

Limestone has also designed a Forest Education Series, a six module course which takes the participant from basic tree ID to advanced forest management techniques. A chainsaw safety course, conducted annually, is also very popular.

Limestone and Quinte chapters are also involved in the Trenton Woodlot Conference, held each November.

We always welcome new members and would be happy to add you to our newsletter e-mailing list. Contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
